New TomTom GPS App Navigates Toward E85 Too!

December 3, 2009 – Washington, DC –In the midst of the most traveled time of the year, the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) has released a new GPS application for TomTom users that maps out the location of E85 (85% ethanol/15% gasoline) stations all across the country. RFA also released a similar GPS application for the Garmin GPS device last week.

The TomTom application will sort the closest E85 fueling stations to the user’s location and their chosen destination. This application is available as a national database, which includes all E85 fueling locations across the United States. Flex-Fuel Vehicle (FFV) owners will be able to download this application to their GPS device with a few simple steps. As a reminder, only FFVs are vehicles capable of running on gasoline/ethanol blends up to 85% ethanol. Owners should consult their owner’s manual to see if their vehicle is E85-compatable.

"We are continuing to explore new ways to connect the consumer with ethanol-blended fuels,” says Robert White, RFA Director of Market Development. “TomTom and Garmin represent 67% of all GPS devices sold in the United States, and with our cooperation with the Department of Energy on station locations, this will continue to yield great results."

To download this TomTom application, visit www.ChooseEthanol.com  for step-by-step instructions. There, the user can download the national data directly from their computer and then to their TomTom device. Installation instructions for the Garmin application are available here as well.
