The Andersons Hold Grand Opening Ceremonies in Greenville
Washington, DC – The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) congratulates The Andersons and Marathon Oil Corporation and the community of Greenville, Ohio on the grand opening of their new, jointly-owned ethanol facility tomorrow. The new facility will produce 110 million gallons of ethanol annually, as well as more than 350,000 tons of distillers grains, a nutrient-rich livestock feed for local livestock markets.
“The Andersons are helping to expand the U.S. ethanol industry, ensuring that we can meet the growing demand for renewable fuels,” said RFA President Bob Dinneen. “Today’s grand opening celebration highlights the continued commitment of Ohio residents in taking a leading role in driving this country toward a more stable energy future. On behalf of the more than 300 member companies of the RFA, I congratulate The Andersons and the community of Greenville on this exciting new partnership.”
The Greenville biorefinery is the third ethanol facility for The Andersons and will provide 45 new jobs for the surrounding community.
Currently, 147 ethanol biorefineries nationwide have a capacity to produce more than 8.5 billion gallons annually. Additionally, 55 biorefineries are under construction and 6 are expanding that will add 5 billion gallons of additional production capacity.
