August 2009 Daily Ethanol Production/Demand
October 29, 2009 Washington - U.S. ethanol production was virtually unchanged in August at 727,500 barrels per day (b/d), according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). That is an increase of 80,000 b/d from August 2008.
Ethanol demand, as calculated by the Renewable Fuels Association, continued to outpace production in August. According to RFA calculations, demand was 734,000 b/d in August, up from 661,000 b/d a year ago.
EIA also reports fuel ethanol imports of 38.7 million gallons in August.
